On December 4, She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition announced its 2021 winner to be healthcare communications solution provider CardMedic, followed by 3D printing social enterprise re:3D and cosmetic brand SAIB as runners-up.
The three startups as well as the nine other finalists will share up to USD 100,000 in investment and cash prizes.
Established in 2015, She Loves Tech is a global platform that is committed to closing the fundraising gap for female entrepreneurs. It aims to unlock over USD 1 billion in capital for women-led businesses by 2030. Each year, the competition attracts thousands of startups from around the world.
For Leanne Robers, Rhea See, and Virginia Tan, the co-founders of She Loves Tech, She Loves Tech’s mission is to build the “CES for women and technology,” where people from all over the world will discover the latest technology and innovations built by women alongside world famous headliners, according to a press release issued by the organization.
The competition’s finale was part of a two-day conference, the She Loves Tech 2021 Global Summit, which was held virtually on December 3 and 4.
The summit’s speakers included Reid Hoffman, co-founder of Linkedin and partner at Greylock; Maria Ressa, 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and CEO of Rappler; Esther Wojcicki, “Godmother of Silicon Valley” and founder of Tract.app; and Jesse Draper, general partner at Halogen Ventures.
The theme for the conference this year was “#SheTechsCharge – Brave New World,”, with discussions highlighting how women are contributing to worldwide sustainable recovery, as well as how women in technology and leadership roles are shaping the emergence of a new paradigm in a post COVID-19 world.
Initiated by She Loves Tech, #SheTechsCharge is a global movement that calls for the public to empower women in technology and to champion technology that can change lives.
